Yes, it's that time again -- rough drafting time -- and again I'm sorely in need of mood music. I have gotten incredible suggestions before, so I'm reaching out again.
I need haunting string music along the lines of the soundtrack to The Village. Any suggestions?
If I don't find some, I may never write again.
I mean, I might be slightly melodramatic here. But it's a possibility.

Have you tried Pandora radio? I always find my best "sounds like" music there.
Good luck. Sorry I don't have suggestions.
Oh, that's a good idea. I'm going to try a station with only the Village as influences!
Hm. Yeah not sure. I've been listening to Sia lately which I think is lovely. I'll think on some string music and get back at ya. :D
Sia is very pretty! I'm fixating on strings for some reason though, for this one. Someone on my LJ blog suggested The Fountain soundtrack, which is not strings, but definitely the right mood.
Curious, Did you try Pandora? If you have, did you find the type of music you are looking for?
I have found that to be a good starting place in finding other music that fits the bill for the sound I want to listen to.
I did try it, just now -- it was not as good as when I made indie rock and pop stations, however.
The song in the Movie Platoon, Adagio for strings, I believe, is one of the most haunting, sad songs. Does the trick for me when I need that kind of thing. Cheers.
Wouldn't want you never writing again!
That is a great track, BJW -- has such modern appeal for such a classical piece.
I agree, this Adagio for strings is a great track!
