More Pretend Casting for Shiver Movie

Okay, I have film on the brain. I just saw Nanny McPhee and I have a new favorite actress for Grace -- Eliza Bennett. You can see it, can't you?

And I know no one will agree with me, but I think Jason Flemyng would be a great Ulrik.

I'm not sure why I needed to make this post so urgently, at 9 p.m. at night after watching Nanny McPhee. I just did. And now I have.

I am in the middle of reading SHIVER right now and appreciate the visual clues as to how you the writer SEES the charactors. Interesting how quickly I now mentally grasp your suggestions and see them (in my head)as I read the book....ohhh the POWER of visual aides, suggestions, hints, interpretations....LOL.

*grin* I'm glad that I seem to be able to get the visual points across.

I just finished reading Shiver (which kept me up until 4:45 a.m. - only when my eyes started to cross did I finally put it down) and I so hope that the pretend casting becomes real casting one day. A movie could never do the book justice, but it would still be nice to see on the big screen. I had a hard time forming a clear picture of Grace in my head, while reading, but Eliza Bennet seems perfect for stoic, wintery Grace. It will be hard to remain patient until the release of Linger. :)

Thanks, Brooke! Yikes, that is late! or early . . .

I love your pick for Ulrik. (: But I just can't see Grace as blond. I picture her with brown hair. Not sure why. Maggie, I love your book so much! I just finished it today, and let me tell you it was amazing!! Your a very profound author. (:

Haha, Celia -- I have had so many people tell me they can't imagine Grace as blond. I have no idea why, since it mentions her dark blond hair several time, but trust me, you are far from alone on this point!!! :)

Thank you so, so much, by the way.

Grace is described as stoic, but i always felt the heart wrench you can imagine she would feel. so to me, she was an emotional character whereas Sam was the one trying to keep things together, but still completely submissive to his feelings. I always allow the story to let me create the characters however I chose, regardless of the descriptions but I can see where you would choose that actress for Graces part. Who you're consider for Ulrik is right on the money, totally believable character! I CANNOT WAIT for the movie, I know movies are hard to live up to books, but just spend a lot of time on casting. I was thoroughly disappointed with the cast of twilight, I thought it became somewhat superficial and lost the believability to the characters. Not intending to compare the two series, just saying I have faith in your decisions on casting. You're a wonderful author, I know you'll stay true to your characters.

I think all the casting Thoughts are great
and I can Picture then all. but I would Just Like too say why Not Doo some opening aoudtions for them as there are soo many people out there who want too get into Movies and Look the Part. but thats Just my Thoughts. as i think that some movies Never really give other people a chance. Only too people who are real rich actors Or Something Like that.

Dont think Im being rude though with the comment above I just thought Perhaps you might like too hear what other people think.

Maggie, your books are absolutely amazing! I actually don't think amazing covers it. A friend at work recommended Shiver to me, and I just thought to myself, 'Eh, I'll get around to it one day.' I can't believe I waited so long to read it! Now I can't stop recommending these books to my friends. I can't wait to read the next book, and when the movies come out, I'll definitely be in line opening night.

Take care,
Katie R.

P.S. I always like to put some faces to the names before I start reading a book, and I just wanted to share a couple of my ideas with anyone who is reading this note. No matter how hard I try, I cannot tear myself away from the idea as Emma Roberts as Grace and Justin Chatwin as Sam. Both great actors and I really think they would do the characters justice in a movie. =]

some cast ideas for shiver....
Grace: Eliza Bennett
Sam: Logan Lerman
Beck: Patric Dempsey
Oliva: Christian Serratos
Isabel: Nikki Reed (what she looks like from Twilight)
Jack: Kellan Lutz
Rachel: Emma Watson

Logan Lerman <3

But In my personal opinion, I don't think any of the Twilight cast should be in it, because the movie would just get compared to Twilight, and that's not even right, Shiver is NOTHING like Twilight.

NO LOGAN LERMAN, PLEASE!! HE'S NOTHING LIKE SAM
